Picture Of The Day – 11 February 2010

I wanted to do this shot for a while. This morning, I got up early enough and instead of making coffee first, I took pictures.

Excitement

After my later afternoon photo shoot today, I passed again the new stadium in Cape Town. I drove not on the road, I normally use, but Main Road, which is a bit further away from the stadium and then I realized something obvious. This part of town is totally changing. Where it was an area [...]
What’s New At Jürgen’s Photography This Year?

At the beginning of January, I wrote a post called: “Whats’s coming in 2010?” It was a overview of what changed in 2009 and some general ideas, on what I have planned for 2010. Since I started Jürgen’s Photography, I always had the question in my mind on how I can make the experience of [...]
Picture of the Day 1 February 2010

I went for a run this evening at Muizenberg Beach. On my way back to where I started my run, I observed the surfers and was fascinated. It looked like so much fun. The sun was disappearing behind the mountain and I tried to capture the atmosphere of the evening. This is one of the [...]
Picture Of The Day 28 January 2010

I took this shot during sunrise a few months back. I love the atmosphere of the morning light, the warmth and cripness.
On The Mountain

I spent one night with friends on top of Table Mountain. I captured this view, while we made our way to the hut. Spending time on the mountain is one of the best ways for me to rejuvenate. It’s one of the things, I haven’t done often enough over the last few months. The climate [...]
Greenpoint Stadium

Last night after gym, I made a stop at the newly built soccer stadium in Greenpoint, Cape Town. It was not really a planned decision to visit the stadium that night. After I photographed, the soccer field in Mfuleni, the contrast could not have been bigger. The simple construction of tree beams at the soccer [...]
Nikon Festival – A Runner’s Day In Cape Town

I spent some time over the last few days to prepare a small movie for the Nikon Festival. The theme was “My day in 140 seconds”. For you Tweeple (Twitter people) the 140 seconds will make sense as we are restricted to 140 characters for our tweets. My idea was to combine things that I [...]
Mfuleni

I have been working on an assignment in the Mfuleni township (informal settlement) just outside Cape Town over the last few weeks. After I finished today’s work, I passed this shack, with it’s metal sparkle and straight lines. It was one of these occasions, where something looked totally out of place, while being totally in [...]
Review of the 9th Cape Town Photography Meetup

We met today the 9th time for our meetup and the 2nd time for our practical photography meetup. We met today at Red Hill to photograph portraits and headshots with ruins of worker’s homes as backdrop. Andre introduced me to this location a couple of months ago. Thanks for all of you, who participated and [...]
Sunset over Table Mountain

On Tuesday night, I went for a run up Lion’s Head. It turned out to be more a walk than a run after all.
We rested below the top and were treated with this beautiful sunset. I used the Pano application on the iPhone to produce this image.
