11 meetups and counting. I look forward to all the Cape Town photography meetups, as they are so much fun and I learn so much from everyone. We met on Saturday in the are of Table Mountain and went shooting under the watchful eyes of Lion’s Head (this is one of the mountain peaks right in the center of town). Breaking with a tradition, we met already at 8 in the morning for the purpose of better light.
Before we got started, we talked about landscape photography and of course I had to mention Ansel Adams. It is more by accident that we photographed in the area, where I shot my first sunrise of the decade on New Year’s Day. The results of the event surprised me in a positive way, as the light conditions were not really ideal for landscape shots.
You can view more the images on the Cape Town Photography Meetup site on Facebook. We created a new tradition by photographing a group portrait by one of the participants, who has to be in the picture as well. Tatum had took the difficult task on her and we all tried to coordinate to synchronize jumping up, while watching the timer of her camera. Great fun and great shot.
