Our 10th Cape Town Photography Meetup

We met on Saturday the 10th time for the Cape Town Photography Meetup.  We used a new venue for the discussion meetup, which is closer to town and reachable for everyone from the northern and southern suburbs. Our theme was portraits and we looked at images we took at the 9th meetup and I also introduced two portrait photographer, who made their mark in the middle of last century, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Alfred Eisenstaedt. Their work always inspired me and continues to inspire me to create better portraits and understand the context of a person and use it as reflection of their personality.

The discussion was dynamic, open, fair and I believe that everyone was able to take something home from it. Gillian, our newest active member of the group showed us some examples of her work and had some surprises for us. Andre, once again was able to explain technical details in a way that even I understood it and thought to myself that there is still a chance for me to become a mechanical engineer, as it seems to be all so simple ;) . Kudus to Andre for that.

Drikus made a suggestion for the first meetup in January that I keep as a surprise for now.
