Blog – Mariella Norman – Images by Jurgen Banda-Hansmann
It may take a few seconds for the slideshow to load.
Mariella is a life coach in Cape Town and needed some portraits for her marketing material. Together with two colleagues, she booked me for a photo session in Camps Bay. Anneline Black, owner of Brushstrokes, did the makeup. It is amazing how much good makeup can simplify the process of portrait photography. Mariella was relaxed when we started the shoot and sat comfortably and confidently in front of the camera. Mariella eased into the session and we played with some few variations of her look.
All of her images were taken with natural light and mostly in open shadows. A gold reflector added some vibrance to some of the portraits. For most of the portraits, I used the 70-200/2.8 lens as it creates a beautiful soft bokeh for the background.
