No assignments today. A day off. What a good reason to pack my camera and some lenses to drive down to Cape Point and take some nature shots. It was not a long planned excursion, but rather a decision, I made in the spur of the moment. It’s a drive of about 50 kilometres (31 miles), a fact I always forget. I was in adventurous mood and found a new route, which is beautiful.
My expectations of finding wildlife were low. Wrong time of the day for seeing anything interesting. How wrong I was! A group of 4 ostriches were my first encounter, followed by a lone bontebok. When I reached a beach, I was surprised to find two groups of baboons having fun there and enjoying some communal grooming. All images are available for purchase with a royalty free licence.
