Events Photography for Insurance Awards

This South American subsidary of the Spanish insurance company Mapfre organized an awards evening at the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town. It was one of those events, where the organizers  decided in the last moment to confirm the booking with me, which makes things a bit more complicated for me.

I didn’t have time to view the venue before the event and discuss the details of the event with the organizers. An additional challenge was the language. Almost everyone at the event spoke Spanish only. Luckily, I found some time to speak with the local representatives during the event to get the information I required.

During these events, which seem to follow a similar format, I try to photograph moments from the audience to  capture atmosphere. Those atmospheric shots make viewing experience enjoyable.

The audience had lots of fun during the ceremony and it was exciting for me to organize the group with the help of translators and my body language.
